Destination: India Diary. Jaipur, in the Pink City the day before Happy Holi celebrations. This is our day to be out sight seeing, as tomorrow is the festival of Holi, the festival of colors.
People throw paint on you on Holi for good luck in the coming year. Everywhere in the market area are stalls with powdered paint for sale in the wildest colors. You mix them with water and squirt it on passers by.
That is why on Holi people wear white jump suits or other white clothes made of cotton, by the end of the day they will look colorful.
Having paint thrown on you on Holi attracts good luck.
