Impressions of vibrant color for the Spring 2015 collection by Clover Canyon at Saks 5th Avenue El Paseo. A young Atelier design team in LA, who draws inspiration from different corners of the globe, ethnic patterns or prints for different seasons.
The Spring 2015 line is drawing from Oriental influences, Japanese wood cut, color waves, or geometric patterns, and large floral elements, in bloc print, primary colors, with cotton, lace, printed mesh overlay, satin or cotton popeline.
Familiar silhouettes, in shift dress designs seduce us with just a little unexpected seam edge or mesh cut-out, with printed or laser cut details, or new materials. Karate suit inspired pants and tops.
Each season Clover Canyon’s design team takes inspiration from different areas of the world, or different time periods, or distinctive patterns or styles, from many cultures. The modern interpretation of color and shapes take us on a journey of our own, yet build on familiar elements, just enough to keep the clothes comfortable to wear.
The team, with their distinctive eye for design detail and quality fabrication, position the line a little on the pricey side for ready-to-wear, yet each dress has a unique boutique feel. These collections are produced in California in small numbers to maintain quality standards.
I can hardly wait to see where the design team’s inspiration is taking us next season.
Enjoy,
Jasmin
