On the way to India. Departure to Chicago, we travel on American Airlines and arrive in the cold, from balmy Palm Springs.
The next morning we take the L to downtown. Just one day in the freezing city to enjoy and mentally prepare for our Passage to India. It is a cold February day and I am freezing under my light coat, I will be going to warmer climates tomorrow. A little shopping before departure, I browse the shops at Water Tower Place then off to the Art Institute of Chicago. My husband and I especially enjoyed the modern art and architecture wing, seeing several works by Rauschenberg I had not seen before, a work by Cy Twombly, I like him more and more the more pieces I see.
On the ground floor, an exhibit of Indian sculpture, perfect to get us into the mood of things to come. Much of it Hindu and Buddha in various forms and sizes.
Ready now to see more of Ganesh Buddha and Shiva very soon.
Our flight to New Delhi, on American Airlines , a Boing 777, departs at 8:30 p.m.
First time for both of us traveling in 1st class. What a great experience, the seat, a pod, very comfortable. The food, a flavor of India, to get a taste of things to come. We will get a good night sleep and awake a world away. We are the first passengers off the plane to set foot onto India. We feel very special. Greeted by Indian colors, different smells.
Finally, our Voyage to India begins...
