The new Fall looks have so many historical influences. All with references to a sumptuous past.
It is enough to just get a sense of reminiscence in time or place, a glimpse of splendor in different places, this time, Baroque opulence in Venice …
I like the bronze jacquard silk combination of blouse, the metallic skirt, by Roberto Cavalli.
I am a big fan any way, his joyful mix of patterns and textures is so exuberant. I find these designs exhilarating in all their crazyness, the material mix, the chiffon in all different leopard prints, the fringe, the feather like fabric pieces cascading along the body.
This collection has the opulence of Venice and baroque elements with black lace with gold threads interwoven, a golden body armor shield, made of sewn golden sequins, or flowing long silk dresses with purple, bronze, dark gold metallic embroidery. I just feel like a princess even if I feel the dark undertone of decadence of Carnevale in Venice, without resorting to wearing a costume or the absurd. I have to create some jewelry to celebrate the opulence of Venice, may be big black pearls, and garnet in deep red.
