A Celebration of Resort Fashion Resort fashion from the quintessential Resort location: GOA, India. India Resort Fashion Week was held in Bambolim Bay, close to Panjim, in Goa, in December 2011. These beautiful colorful fashions are perfect to wear now.

Held at the fabulous Grand Hyatt at Bambolim Bay, it was a magical event in an enchanted venue. The perfect venue to show the magic of colors, resort feeling, and fashions to wear at a tropical island.

The Grand Hyatt looks like an old summer palace set in a tropical beach area. The splendid architecture reminiscent of South East Asian architecture, pagodas, also mirrors the feeling of the Portuguese settlements of the past centuries, found in Goa. With its pool environment, the open sided building of the dining venue, the serene ponds with their fountains, the grounds, the beach and ocean views, this is truly a magical place. The perfect venue to show the magic of colors, resort feeling, and fashions to wear at a tropical island.

Although India has several Fashion Week events throughout the year held in major cities. IRFWK was the first event held just for Resort fashion. An event with a focus on Resort wear, that can be worn not just in India all year.

Designer Pria Kataria Puri showed an ethnic inspired Look, Tops, kaftans, pant and top combinations, lots of patterns of different ethnic origins, a modern interpretation of familiar styles, sequins, and an unexpected mix of bright colors.

I really like the colorful collection with mostly sheer layers by designer Babita Malkani. Her label Babita M. is very successful.
