As a cheeky idea the King of Shoes with the Red Sole, Christian Louboutin, had a fun Collaboration with the House of Jean-Francois Lesage, famous for Couture Embroidery.
Louboutin and Lesage created a Satirical Homage to Marie-Antoinette, ill fated wife of Louis XV of France. The design shows the face of M.-A. at the ankle with her hair in customary gigantic high do made from wool with a sailing ship as decorative element perched on top.
The decor of the shoe reflects the style of court gowns of the time with ruffles and ribbon edging. The panels of the shoe show exquisite embroidery of flower branches in golden metal thread. Apart from the head and the hair, this shoe could pass for a very elaborate evening shoe, it is the creative add-on that make it a work of Art.
Unique indeed, even though it is for sale, only the well heeled with a Platinum card may consider, an estimated price of about $5000.00 makes this pair of shoes, one pair that will not be seen repeatedly at a Soirée any time soon.
Enjoy,
Jasmin
