It is almost February, that said, Modernism Week in Palm Springs is almost here.
February 12th – Feb. 21st 2016.
This town will be a buzz with cocktail parties, events, Architecture lectures, shows, films and more parties at Mid-Century homes, plenty of Martinis, or Margaritas.
I will be attending some of these parties and events. Time to look again at my Mood board with sequins for stars, inspiration to look fabulous for the next cocktail parties.
Blake Lively becomes a Bronze Goddess in the floor length gown with a very low back. More sparkle in her hair with some hair jewelry by Prada. Her gown is covered in sequins… similar to the Kaufmann Franco gown in Silver Smoke, Fish Scales all along the body.
I will wear something similar to the fabulously elegant tiered Carolina Herrera black lace gown. Black lace in a body conscious gown, sexy! May be with the ear jewelry by Kiki McDonnal, or may I will create ear jewelry with Amethyst briolettes.
If I change my mind and rather wear a short number, I will choose the black sequin dress by Laundry. My nails will be done with the Black Sequin nail polish by Deborah Lipmann, or one of my Favs for sparkly nails from the Luxeffects collection by Essie, the"frilling me softly" is all platinum sparkles, or the tassel shaker, it's all gold sparkle flex, perfect to wear with black.
Another choice for the Red Carpet party hosted by interior designer Christopher Kennedy, could be the Halston Heritage Half-Sleeve Embellished Sheath Dress, in Sorbet. This is one of my Favs for a party at a Mid-Century Modern home. Another contender is the Sparkle Halter Dress by L.K. Bennett at SFA. I have slipped it on, it fits my curves like a glove. For Sparkle a little closer to the face, I will wear ear jewelry from my own collections. My nails will be polished with Fashion Flares by Essie, this time with sparkly fuschia flex. Don't miss my Edit below.
I like the Jimmy Choo Abel Crystal Pointed-Toe Pumps in sparkly silver, but sometimes I wear my silver Vondras by Nina, the heel is more comfortable for a long evening.
The short flirty draped dress by Badgley Mischka is my choice for the Steel so Cool party at one of the Donald Wexler designed homes, one more highlight of the Modernism Week Events. Donald Wexler’s designs with the shaped metal roof is quite distinctive and can be found in several homes in the Palm Springs area.
The Christian Louboutin Iriza 100 Metallic Pumps would go with the Emilio Pucci dress, or I may slip in my silver Vondras by Nina again. Of course, my nails will be done with Frilling me Softly, with silver flares, by Essie.
So many Events, so many party choices. Modernism Week in Palm Springs is the highlight to celebrate the Palm Springs Mod vibe, channel the Sunny Lifestyle, I can hear the echo of Frank Sinatra's voice lingering at the Lounge at The Parker.
Enjoy, Jasmin
