It was a magical Opening Night for Modernism Week 2017 at TheBank. The scene was set. All lit up, the trees dripping with sparkly diamonds, music, a girl with a golden gun in a giant Martini glass, and more diamonds all over.
Bond, Diamonds are Forever, The Golden Gun, was the theme. Guys in tuxedos, Girls in dresses with golden or silver sequins. Plenty of cocktails, a few bites, served by Lulu's. Mr. Bond, Sean Connery, at her Majesty's Service, set the mood on the screen. Suspense and danger lurked... Seduction was in the air.
Alfa Romeo, one of the sponsors of Modernism Week 2017 brought a silver Alfa Romeo into the magic party garden. Yes, it wasn't an Aston Martin all tricked out, but we could imagine. The special Bond touch was palpable all evening. The thrill that only Danger brings, we never know how the night will end. Could Largo, the Villain, possibly spoil the night?
Seduction was all around us. Just another Martini and we were called upstairs to join another party.
I was Domino for the evening, as I channeled Claudine Auger in Thunderball, the girl who drifts away with Bond in the end.
I had my own James Bond on my arm. I was the sexy Bond Girl in my silvery sparkle dress, the bee hive, the sky high heels. As we danced, yet another Bond mission ended with a bang...
