A trip to Southern Spain, the historic town of Seville, is the right Getaway after too much snow and rain in Switzerland in the last few weeks. I feel revived and inspired by the myriad of colors on the buildings.

As I wander along the old city I am surprised by the many different architectural styles, a signature of different centuries. The area has such a rich history, so many grand buildings are filled with artifacts. The Collonade at the Plaza de Espana leads me to more buildings. Near the Alcazar Palace I can see the high Giralda Tower, it is quite impressive.

A visit to a history museum helps to understand the many architectural influences and different architectural styles in Seville. Later, a visit to a palazzo allows a glimpse into life in Seville in the past, a stroll along an interior garden of a palazzo is a Must for the day.

The day is filled with new discoveries around the streets of the old city. As I wear another red dress, the ruffles of the soft silk brushes against my legs. The blue tile work on buildings in the old city tells a story of great seafaring discoveries. When I walk along the stately buildings, I feel connected with the past.

Seville in the Spring is full of magic. The bright colors, the Mudejar architecture, the city’s charm, the blooming roses, they all enchant your senses. When you step into an interior garden inside a palazzo, as the spray of a fountain dances in the sun light, you feel dazzled by the moment, just as I was.
