It was a sad moment for me recently to hear that an icon of hair design is gone.

Jean Louis David, Founder of Jean Louis David salons, the man who gave us fabulous hair color and bold hair styles left us this Spring.

When I was a student of Art and Interior Design in Paris, I often walked by the modern stylish salons in the streets of Paris. Sometimes, when I peeked through the windows, I watched the ladies in the chairs. Oh, if I could just go in and get a chic hair cut.

It was special, when I was able to enter this elegant space and treat myself to a stylish hair cut a few times. This salon was a place of magic, of transformation. The well lit interior, the white chairs, the enormous mirrors looked different than other salons. Large posters on the walls showed models with ravishing silky shiny hair. The salon oozed luxury.

Jean Louis David was the master of vibrant hair color. He introduced new color techniques and bold shades that made young women look dazzling. His craft and vision made every woman look fabulous.

Thank you, Jean Louis David.

We will miss you.

Your legacy lives on. A new generation of hair stylists continue your vision in Jean Louis David salons in France and Switzerland. I still have the opportunity to visit the Jean Louis David salon here in Fribourg, to get an excellent hair cut when I want to feel alluring and sexy.

Best, now I can afford to visit this salon any time I want to feel gorgeous.
