When I stopped at the Turks and Caicos islands, on Grand Turk, I had a chance to snorkel and walk along the white sandy beach. The long side of this island has a deserted beach, as houses sit more inland. The color of the ocean had the turquoise hues of the Caribbean waters. That’s why the name of these islands is Turks for Turquoise! Now I get it.
