This year has been a year full of surprises and new opportunities for me. A move, a new home, finishing other projects, and being surrounded by new friends adds joy to this holiday celebration.
My Thanksgiving table is a visual seduction with elements from past years mixed with seasonal favorites.
I like to define the mood with different colored napkins, or flowers, various textures. The rough textured place mats add a different feel, an unexpected color. I play with different glassware. Most of my stemware is transparent, that mixes with other colors. Small accent pieces serve as candleholders or vases. I added the porcelain birds to remind me of the season. They have been part of my Thanksgiving table for many years.
The white gold rimmed dinner plates are a neutral base, to mix with other plates. I like plates with a white background that let the food shine. As we get closer to Thanksgiving I will add more silver pieces to the table. A bread basket, a saucière, silver plated serving spoons that have been in my family for many years, that bring back memories of past celebrations.
Entertaining at home is one of my favorite things. I can set a table to create a mood for the evening that vows guests. Choosing an outfit that resonates the colors of the table frame the look.
Hope your Thanksgiving will be celebrated with a different theme this year. Selecting different colors, textures with fabrics and set a mood that celebrates the season.
Offer traditional dishes with a new twist by adding different side dishes, select food and cocktails that celebrate the season in a special way.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Best,
Jasmin
