At the Isleornsay in the Isle of Skye, the Scottish Highlands. A Winter sky and the icy cold river. The water runs over the rocks, moss grows around the edge. We feel alive.
This shoot was one of the best of the year. We embraced the Scottish fashion theme. The patterns, classic yet modern, with different accessories and colors, it is young, yet connected to tradition and local textures.
My skirt was a wrap skirt that folded in the front, the pattern is a modified houndstooth pattern, paired with a silky blouse in Curry, I felt at home. My black suede boots took a beating walking along the hillside. Wellies would have been a better choice.
Traditional patterns interpreted in a young fresh approach. Mix with leo print, stripes and a 70s silhouette. To walk along the countryside on the Isle of Skye was the highlight of the days spent here. We dress in fashion of the moment here, with Glencheck and Tartans, Tartan Bro Leon for this dress by designer Ana Alcazar. The locals dress like this all the time, they have been for years. It is a proud expression of their culture.
We were a part of local color and history, it connected us. For a moment we were part of the family.
A visit to Locharron of Scotland is a Must, if you are in this wonderful part of the world. This manufacture of wool fabrics, tartans and Cashmere fabrics is one of the oldest factory in Scotland. The richness of the many patterns on display will be educational and stunning. The company has been weaving traditional fabric patterns for a very long time. It is considered a repository of patterns from local clans and families. At the same time, it is a lesson in history of Scottish families filled with stories you won’t forget.
