It was a sudden unexpected stop. A stop, then a return to Memory Lane. Right before my departure from New York, I made another stop, recently. The bus driver stopped to let other passengers get off the bus, when I saw the TWA JFK Terminal appear in its new found restored glory. I was struck how beautifully the historic TWA Eero Saarinen Terminal JFK looks now. I jumped off the bus to take a few snapshots.
This Terminal brings back many memories, as I used to depart from it many, many times to fly all over the TWA flight network, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Athens, Frankfurt... I have spent countless hours there, waiting for flights, lugging luggage, at other times cheerfully arriving on my way back from Europe, before boarding yet another flight home.
I am glad, I had this moment to remember. Happy Times, filled with anticipation about foreign places. My friends, who shared my travel adventures, the flights on a 747 with elegant cart service, flowers, Mumm Champagne, and delicious bites to eat in First... Happy Times indeed.
