Red sequins 80s style jumpsuit with dark wrap, a torn butterfly unable to fly.
Eduardo Lucero had his models appear in front of a visual that showed a person trapped in a cage, unable to escape. How this symbol, accompanied by discordant music, connected with his designs, is questionable. For his day wear collection, I did see influences from the Punk sub-culture displayed in the use of deconstructed, ripped fabric, every color in the rainbow as long as it was black, and giant zippers. His post-apocaliptic vision reminiscent of 1984 with disco merriment gone bad did not connect with me: bright red sequined jump suits, gowns with cutouts, and feathers on cape-like tops or blouses, with ripped black fabric felt too costumy.
This Look was a play with proportion, quite costumy.
Lucero and model on the runway, this was his best design.
True to the dance fever mood, bodies were accessorized with large gold chains that reminded me of Versace—definitely an aggressive, expressive statement that draws attention.
Caught and can't get away, the punk bondage Look.
