The show was beautifully curated. Designers trotted out collections that were quite a departure from their previous work. The evening’s passing parade of couture cloth was an evolution of Looks from chromatic infusions, to edgy and assertive Punk-ishness, to Tantric-sensual day wear, to architecturally inspired cocktail dresses.

The glam volume was cranked with mermaid inspired silhouettes in jewel tones or Art Deco-provoked black. Judging from the crowd’s enthusiastic response, and the bustling party afterward, this Opening Night was a hit.
