Oscar de la Renta for Spring 2016 at SFA El Paseo. The Mixed Media dress, designed by Peter Copping for Oscar de la Renta, wows with Luxe Sophistication, a splash of Citrus colors, and the promise of Spring.
Bright Lemon, Pomegranate, Mandarin, jewel green sequins, with a hint of aqua, on white lace, is the first thing I noticed, then my eyes moved to the bodice. The gathered ruffle reminded me of Balenciaga’s early work. The bold print of the deep blue flowers, the brush strokes, create an unexpected juxtaposition.
The Radzimir silk, definitely a fabric I have not seen in a while, has a Luxe luster. I gently moved my fingers across the fabric, wishing this dress would be mine.
"Make it appear in my closet, as if by magic!" I silently said.
I discovered this dress at SFA El Paseo before the debut at the Spring Show. I immediately noticed the influence of Mr. De la Renta’s early years, his work with the master, in Spain. The spirit of Balenciaga is so apparent, the silhouette, the Joie de Vivre in the Citrus colors of the sequins, the Flamenco inspired ruffle, it all felt like a Spring breeze. Peter Copping, Creative Director for Oscar de la Renta, chosen by Mr. De la Renta himself, showed his debut Spring collection at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, FL just a few days ago. This show was hosted with the generous support of The Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach and Saks 5th Avenue. More on the show and the wonderful gowns at a later time…
The Neon pink Rivierina Pumps by Christian Louboutin continue the splash of tropical colors. Now, just finding the perfect clutch for this Look... that will take some thought. My selection is from Shopstyle.com.
I think, I would choose the fabulous Blue Flower shoulder bag, with embroidered flowers, by Oscar de la Renta for this Spring party… Happy Spring party fun!
Enjoy,
Jasmin
