In the afternoon we are off to Merhauli, very close to the Qutub Minar, an older neighborhood in New Delhi. This area is being revived and terribly chic now, with elegant shops in old settings. Some built right into the crumbling walls. What a back drop. The driver has trouble finding it as it is not a typical tourist destination.
I enjoy browsing the area and the shops. Well dressed elegant Indian ladies are also out shopping, we share a brief chat with a very charming ladies and I get more ideas of places to go close by.
The shops at Merhauli are mostly boutiques with clothes and accessories. I like Kimaya, lots of colorful dresses and tops, embroidered beaded lehengas in kiwi, pink or soft palm greens, or bright blue, fabulous evening clutches, ah, impossible to decide.
Then on to a quick lunch at Olive Bar & Kitchen restaurant in a gorgeous backyard garden setting, white pebble stones on the ground, all white and aqua, very chic and stylish, just the place we like. Too bad we could not linger for too long ... away from the noise and madness of the traffic.
